January 12, 2019 @ 10:00 am
Presented in partnership with The Door County Civility Project
In 2019, DCA is teaming up with The Door County Civility Project to present Door County Talks, a series of five free lectures presented in the cozy Fireside Lobby. This year, the series is themed around promoting civility, strengthening community, and encouraging empathy. Kick Ash Coffee will be on hand with coffee and bakery available for purchase. All Door County Talks include a short break, a post-talk Q&A with the speaker, and a chance to meet and reconnect with the year-round Door County friends and neighbors.
Featured Lecturer: Kelli Strickland, Executive & Artistic Director, Weidner Center
Tickets: Free Event, Free-will Donations Accepted
Date: Saturday, January 12, 2019 | Time: 10 a.m.
Join us as we examine the role that the fine and performing arts can play in building civic pride, bridging differences, and healing community trauma. Through examining real life examples from The Art of The Rural, Philadelphia Mural Project, Cornerstone Theatre and other smaller scale projects, it becomes clear how the arts transform communities.
