Date: Saturday, January 14, 2023 | Time: 10 a.m.

Martin (Marty) Schreiber, Wisconsin’s 39th governor, will present an Alzheimer’s support message. Schreiber will share his 18-year experience of watching his wife, Elaine, transform into a person who no longer recognized him and their children. His message for fellow caregivers is that there is hope in the sorrow and strength in knowing that you are not alone. Schreiber will share what he wishes he’d known sooner and done differently as a caregiver. He’ll also include many moments of humor and joy because he believes that without laughter, caregivers cannot survive this journey. Schreiber is the author of My Two Elaines: Learning, Coping, and Surviving as an Alzheimer’s Caregiver. Net proceeds from book sales will be used to promote Alzheimer’s caregiver-support programs. “Caregivers are heroes for their selflessness and love, all while meeting challenges we never imagine. Cheers to Marty Schreiber as he shares how we as caregivers do everything we can to make sure our loved ones’ physical needs are met, legacies are preseserved and integrity remains intact.” — Jim Nantz, Founder of the Nantz National Alzheimer Center
