Door County Talks: Living in the Digital Rage – Dealing with Anger, Hostility and Violence Online

In 2019, DCA is teaming up with The Door County Civility Project to present Door County Talks, a series of five free lectures presented in the cozy Fireside Lobby. This year, the series is themed around promoting civility, strengthening community, and encouraging empathy. Kick Ash Coffee will be on hand with coffee and bakery available for purchase. All Door County Talks include a short break, a post-talk Q&A with the speaker, and a chance to meet and reconnect with the year-round Door County friends and neighbors.

It’s no secret that social media platforms and other online environments are often very hostile places. This talk will explore the scientific literature on internet anger, including providing concrete solutions for how to keep your cool online and also how to deal with the online anger of others.
