He’s played alongside the masters, from Johnny Cash to Lester Flatt (who discovered him); been a worldwide ambassador for Nashville; and he’s safeguarded country’s most valuable traditions and physical artifacts (he owns an assortment of Cash’s famed black boots, for example). Sharp, rollicking, and keenly relevant, Marty Stuart is at once a music historian, a visionary artist, and one of the best live performers on the circuit today.
